Sales agent and brokers are completely different in the real estate business. Both brokers and sales agents help their clients with the buying, selling, leasing, and renting of properties but still many people don't know the real difference between the two. A broker is licensed to manage his own business whereas a sales agent is required to work with a broker and should be at least 18 years old and have proof of a legal presence in the United States.
A sales agent is also required to complete three courses of college level including Real Estate Principles, Practice and one of twelve classes like Property Management and Economics. All of these classes should be taken from an institute which is recognized by a regional accrediting agency. It is compulsory for the sales agent to acquire a license if he wants to perform any of his activities.Sales agents are required to work under the supervision of a broker and the agent cannot work on his own because he is under an employment of the broker. Sales agent can only receive compensation for his jobs from the broker.
The agent must have worked a minimum of two years full-time before applying for the broker’s examination and to get his broker license he is required to pass all of the statutory required college level courses. So in order to become a broker, experience as a sales agent is also required.A broker has more experience in dealings related to real estate whereas a sales agent can give you a fine service at buying or selling of real estate property.
