What you should know before visiting Prague

Prague is the capital and the largest city in the Czech Republic. It is very interesting and unique city, so you should visit it. There are many interesting cathedrals, bridges and towers that can offer you an unforgettable experience. The best way to get in Prague is by plane. You will land on Václav Havel Airport Prague, (+420 296 661 111; +420 220 111 111). You should know that there are three terminals. Terminal 1 is used for non-Schengen flights, Terminal 2 for Schengen flights and Terminal 3 is used for private flights.

The official language is Czech. It is a very different language than English, but very similar to Slavic languages (Serbian/Bosnian/Croatian). Slovak language can be used sometimes because Slovak and Czech understand each other. Young people usually speak English language, but elderly don’t understand it. Many restaurants offer menus in English. You should know that people in police, train and metro stations rarely speak English.

There are many ‘’hospoda’’ (pubs) in Prague. Also, this city is known for beers, so you will have to try some. The most known are: Budweiser Budvar (Budějovický Budvar), Pilsner Urquell (Plzeňský Prazdroj) and Staropramen.

The peak season in Prague lasts from April to October. Also, there are many visitors for the New Year, so it would be nice if you visit this city then.
