What You Should Know Before Traveling to Romania

Romania is a big country is Eastern Europe. It is best known for the legend of Count Dracula. Because of this, many people visit this country every year. The most popular place is Transylvania. This country also has a Black Sea cost, so during the summer, you can swim. The size of Romania is 237,500 sq. km. The population is 19.043.767. The country number is +40.
Romania is a member of the Schengen Agreement, but it didn’t implement it completely. Citizens from countries that are members of the EU and EFTA may enter Romania with their ID card. This rule applies to citizens of Switzerland. Citizens from countries that are also members of the Schengen Agreement can enter Romania and stay up to 90 days. Citizens of Japan, the United States and Japan can work in Romania, but they must get a visa.
It is very easy to come in Romania, thanks to its position. Still, the best way is by plane. There are 17 airports in Romania. Some of the most used and the biggest are: Bucharest's Henri Coanda (Otopeni) Airport, Bucharest's Aurel Vlaicu (Baneasa) Airport and the Traian Vuia International Airport. There are good connections with other European cities. You can also go to Romania by train. There are direct connections with: Moscow, Vienna, Budapest and Sofia.
The official language is Romanian. In Transylvania, 5.6% of the population speaks Hungarian language. Russian is used, but very little. Only 7% of Romanian people understand this language (4% speak it fluently).
The official currency is Leu (it means lion). Romania is a much cheaper country than Western Europe. There are a lot of ATMs and banks where you can exchange your money.
